How do I take the step up?

o I live in NC and have an agent. I have been sent out for a lot of stuff already after a few months so I think I will build up my resume pretty fast. I was thinking after I get several film/TV/commercial/print credits I'm hoping to go (move) to California and try to take it to the next level. But how would I get there? Would I just tell my agent that and see what she says, then move? Or would I have to wait until I get something there and then move there? Also hopefully if I moved there I'd be SAG/AFTRA. What should I do after I have a big resume? Because I'll want to move up.
