Which is the best final fantasy game?

I love RPG games... Dragon Age, Fable, Legend of Zelda, Oblivion being some of my favourites. And now I really want to start playing Final Fantasy. I have only ever played Final Fantasy 7 on the ps1. And can't remember much of it since that is years ago. So whats the best one? storywise... I dont care much about how much fighting you have to do or what the graphics are like, I just want a good plot/story.
