Recommend a good RPG?

I like RPGs a lot my favorites being Oblivion and Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Like everyone else I'm waiting for Skyrim. What is a good RPG that maybe I should play while I wait? I been thinking about maybe a Fable (1st one sounds the best), but I also know someone who just got a RPG called Overlord that looks pretty fun. So any recommendations for a RPG? (I have a PS3 and a good PC, so anything but xbox exclusives). Thanks
