How do the military help in a missing persons case?

well obviously we don't find anything we have been looking for bin laden since the 90s. and Police,fire,medical, and "military" don't touch an IED. Bomb squad (sometimes military. depending on the event) will disarm it the safest way possible. Some will tourch the IED or some simply drive over it with a drum(with chains attatched that smack the ground to trigger a det) extended from the front of vehicle made to withstand that pressure from an IED blast. Fire ensures nothing else catches on fire, medical is way off in the back becuase unless the scene is safe they dont go in ( not supposed to) and police basically watch to make sure nothing else goes down
