Different types of guitar phrasing?

When i used to take lessons my guitar teacher told me about the 3 main types of phrasing when improvising(blues mostly). This included the call and response, but i forget the other two. I know there are different types of phrases, but i wanted to try to figure out what the other two were. And dont tell me "just feel it" or anything like that, because i alraedy do. The problem is mostly my playing is call and response, and i need to spice it up. I dont like rules but i think of them more as guidelines in a way.
