Why does my CD/DVD Drive keep ejecting itself?

For a while now, if I try to remove a disk from d DVD drive of my computer, it won't eject for a long tym until I keep pressing n pressing n pressing, or I improvise a lil by inserting a broom into a small hole on d face of d drive-sth I learnt during engineering class. After a while the drive starts ejecting itself, even if It just booted after days. The action of ejecting itself prevents it from reading CD/DVD's obviously-a real pain in d ***. Pls what could be responsible n wat do I do?
